Dice Cirlot, que este símbolo presenta una significación dual  (¿cómo la dualidad de los animales del tapiz…?). Como perteneciente a la Luna, concierne al mundo de las fronteras cambiantes, a lo fenoménico, al principio pasivo y femenino, a lo acuático. Sin embargo, aunque con frecuencia en tal caso aparece asociado a una estrella, surge en los emblemas occidentales de la Edad Media como figuración simbólica del paraíso.

“One of the famous six tapestries in the ‘The Lady with the Unicorn’ series. Woven in about 1511 they feature the arms of Jean le Viste. Each represents one of the senses except for the final ‘A Mon Seul Desir’. These 12’ high masterpieces were lost until 1844 when the novelist Georges Sands discovered them in Boussac suffering from damage from rats and damp walls. The Cluny Museum in Paris purchased them in 1853, later restoring them. They are now amongst the national treasures of France displayed in their own circular room at the museum. Woven in Belgium. 70% cotton. Lined, with a rod pocket for easy hanging.”

Pero es un INTERROGANTE… sólo un interrogante que me despierta a la certeza de la incertidumbre… Otros se preguntan que hubo al inicio, de hecho es fascinante preguntárselo siquiera… Otros se inquietan por lo que habrá después… Yo no logro desplazar mis incógnitas tan lejos, más allá… Hace tiempo que descubro, que descubrí en este tapiz, lo que deseo averiguar… el orden, el Significado, la oscuridad del Símbolo, … lo irradiante de su Belleza y Misterio.
